How to Succeed
Class participation is key to success in this class. Be sure to always participate in class discussions, and demonstrate interest in the class—particularly during Socratic Seminars. When writing an essay, always make an effort to ask for feedback during tutorials, and take advice given. DON'T be off topic during class—your teacher will likely hear but not tell you about it explicitly. Be sure to make thoughtful contributions to discussions, and not speak just to get participation points. Show effort in your work, and improvement. Also, show up to tutorials and make an effort to take feedback given. It is also important to note that your teachers remember those who are truly passionate about the material. She appreciates effort over busy work. Even if you are not the smartest kid in the classroom, these teachers will respect you if you show a real interest in what you are learning. Those who explore unique ideas instead of settling for common place ones catch her eye. Participate even if you do not have the most insightful ideas because she strives to foster a creative and collaborative environment.
